New Content Features in ANGEL 7.4

I've been so focused on the big changes with the Assessment Tool, that I missed the opportunities available with several of the content tools which I'd like to highlight here!
  1. Google media button in html editor - Now in any area that has the html editor (any text box usually) - you can click on the "G" icon to link to any video directly from Youtube or any picture stored in Picasa (Google's image storage tool). This has 2 advantages - it stores the media in a location outside of ANGEL since your storage is very limited in ANGEL, and it is easy to use!
  2. Adding RSS feeds to your courses - under the Resources or Communicate tabs, you can add an RSS feed pod and then add any RSS feed there you want to have available for your students. You can search by topic, or add the URL directly for any feed
  3. Ability to add custom pods - Notice the video in the center of the picture above - you can now create a blank content pod (under Resources or Communicate tabs) and add anything that you want to add, using the html editor - video, pictures, text. Use it to welcome students to a course, preview a lecture, review for tests.. it puts immediate things at their fingertips - rather than having them search under the lessons tab.
Remember that you can use the Resources tab as a Course homepage - so that it is the first page yor students see when they log-in to your course - by going to the Manage tab - Tab Settings - Select Resources as the Start Tab - and Save
