ESL & Digital Commons

During the spring semester, I worked with a student who I had in ESL 4 last fall. She wanted to continue to work on her English and I knew she had an interest in radio and TV, so I thought a project using the Digital Commons would work well to accomplish both of her interests. She DJ's at another college radio station on the weekends, in Spanish and so I thought she might want to explore some career options in communications and this might project give her some confidence to do this...so we set out to have her do a kind of news story about a topic she was interested - helping English language learners to be successful.
